Immeasurable Moments : Children

Ever have one of those days where nothing seems to go right? Well this was one of those "shoots" where nothing seemed to go right. It all started with a last minute location change. Then I knew things weren't good when I was drenched with sweat just from loading my car - never a good sign. As soon as I hit the road, I saw I was below "E." I pulled into the nearest gas station, got out, realized my gas tank was on the other side of the car, got back in, turned around - dripping with sweat again. Gotta love Virginia humidity. So onto the location which ended up having people everywhere I wanted to shoot, I broke a lens hood, lost another lens hood, got covered in dirt and ended up with two blisters on my feet. Good times. And of course this all happened with clients who literally JUST moved to Virginia three weeks ago. So, I'm sorry, Christine, if I have tainted you forever. Things don't always go that badly, I promise! It really was a pleasure meeting you, and your kids are adorable! And so well behaved! I hope that the pictures will have made it all worth it!

Emma and Lily are adorable sisters I had the privilege of photographing today. Emma certainly made my job easy, and just might have a career in modeling someday. She definitely knows how to strike a pose! And Lily is such a sweet pea who adores her Daddy. And thank goodness he was there to coax smiles out of his baby girl! It should be illegal to look this gorgeous (and tiny!) at 8 1/2 months pregnant! But honestly, Beth, you look amazing. I had a fantastic time with you and can't wait to meet your precious baby boy! Just a few more weeks and he'll be here!

Immeasurable Moments : Babies & Toddlers

Two-year-old Riley is ADORABLE! And even though we just met, we fast became friends. Riley's great-grandmother was gracious enough to allow us to use her home for our session tonight. We were lucky enough to also capture some photos inside the home where the children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren are growing up. I hope these pictures will bring back special memories for them for years to come. Enjoy your sneak peek!

I think I set a record for fastest session ever. Between the first and last picture it took 35 minutes. And that included a wardrobe change and a smash cake! I guess when it's so humid you're literally dripping with sweat AND being eaten alive by ginormous mosquitoes, it makes you want to move quick! Thank you Heather, Priscilla, Jaylee, and Cambria for suffering with me today. But I hope you will agree that it was worth it!

Immeasurable Moments : Babies

I had a another great First Birthday session the other day with handsome Mr. Blake. He is such a happy little guy and had us all laughing as he dove into that cake! I thought my youngest son was the best first birthday cake-smasher ever, but Blake here might have topped it! Who needs hands anyway??? Putting your face right in the cake is much more efficient! Happy first birthday, little man, and I hope to see you again in the near future!
